Place Račišće

Airport and transport – town Korčula (12 km); ferry (from town Korčula) to peninsula Pelješac (around 2 km), Drvenik (around 25 km), Dubrovnik (around 130 km) and Bari (Italy); airports in Split and Dubrovnik.

History – (see Island Korčula); in Samograd bay pre-historic remains are found; inhabited during 16th and 17th century.

Interesting to see: church of St. Vlaho (17th century; with Baroque Loggia); church of St. Nicholas (19th century).

Info – Place of vineyards and beautiful pebble beaches and bays for a peaceful family vacation; 468 inhabitants.

Inevitable to see: in Kneže (2 km from Račišće; on the way to Korčula) stony vineyards are located (beautiful scenery of hand made stone walls, which separate one vineyard from other) giving the exquisite wine Pošip.

Inevitable to taste: wine Pošip.
